Share the Love with Me & You

In the midst of this winter season, we’ve been busy with fundraising and pushing forward current and new projects! Our holidays were incredibly successful. We were able to adopt 15 kids this holiday season, providing them with Christmas packages. We also provided 25 families at our partner schools with toiletry packages filled with toothbrushes, toothpaste, soap, detergent, shampoo and conditioner and toilet paper. For our schools, we provided students with hand sanitizer, sanitary pads, tissues and deodorant.

We’re gearing up for our next event, Share the Love with Me & You, a fundraiser at Café Dain in Annandale, VA. There will be happy hour specials all night. 10% of proceeds and 50% of tips will go toward our projects. There’ll also be a Pop-Up Shop if you’re looking for some new winter apparel.

On Valentine’s Day we’ll be out on the streets of our city providing toiletry packages, winter gear and warm meals to those without a home. This March, we’ll be taking 44 students from Jefferson Academy to a Washington Wizards basketball game. It’ll be the official launch of our new program that will provide local students with greater access to arts, sporting and other events. For many of the families we support, taking their kids to these events are beyond their financial means.

After an incredibly successful fundraising season, we’ll also be able to provide students at Forest Oak Middle School with sports equipment and other necessities for their summer program, and summer reading books for students at Jefferson Academy.
