A BIT ABOUT US

Me & You is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to advocating for students from underrepresented communities and those experiencing homelessness. We partner with schools across the District, Maryland and Virginia to provide essential items and opportunities that support students in leading well-rounded lives. We work with teachers and school administrators to identify needs and mobilize fundraising efforts to meet them.

We are celebrating 10 years of supporting our community this year! Over the past decade, we have positively impacted the lives of thousands of students in the D.C. metro area. Our programs have delivered school supplies, clothing, meals, full-sized toiletry bags for students and their families, grocery store gift cards through COVID and beyond, and other items to support their lives at home. We have also provided access to technology for both in-class and virtual learning environments, and supplies for a school's community garden.

Outside of the school walls, our Experience Matters program expands learning beyond the classroom by offering students access to field trips and extracurricular activities that foster personal growth. We have provided opportunities for students to attend NBA basketball games, yoga, rock climbing, summer camps, an international learning program, and college tours.

Our organization began around Valentine's Day in 2015, and each year we celebrate our beginnings by supporting a new cause. This year, we are excited to focus on two initiatives (in honor of our 10 years): sponsoring a Lunar New Year celebration at a local school and contributing to the Scholastic Book Fair at participating schools.

Me & You is a volunteer-based organization, neither its founders nor its board members receive any compensation. All proceeds raised go toward our mission.
