We're gearing up!

As the new school year is well underway, so too, is the Me & You team getting back to work on school wish lists for this upcoming holiday season. As we prepare, it's important that we remind ourselves why we carry out our mission. Earlier this year, we had the chance to hear from our school coordinators after the last holiday season to understand how we're doing as an organization. After receiving feedback from schools, we couldn't help but share the incredible impact YOU help us make!

"Me and You has become an essential partner of Linkages to Learning at Summit Hall Elementary to meet basic needs of vulnerable families in the school.  Our families are mostly immigrants with challenging needs associated with physical survival, community adjustment, and emotional well-being. Me and You is part of the collaborative infrastructure we have designed to meet unique needs of our immigrant families. Thanks to your support with provide families with essentials like toiletries, and gift cards for them to purchase clothing, shoes, or toys for the children, especially during Holiday season."

"When I presented the students with the jackets, they were so grateful and so excited.  At first, some were unsure about accepting it, but I was able to explain how this is the process of giving back, and that one day they will be able to give back to people who need it.  Maybe one day they will be able to directly help the people who helped us get these jackets when we needed it! It was a great learning opportunity for all of us about giving back, and I can tell the students were really grateful for their jackets and the other donations.  I see them wearing those jackets every day with pride."
